I'm currently uploading many, MANY pics from my soup, but since duplicate detecting programs are crap, there'll be dups, sorry for that :<

Not that I'm too concerned about there being duplicates, but I'm wondering, is there any way to delete the duplicates if we see them?

erm, there's a "remove" link beneath the pic, but I think it's admin-only... so... maybe send me the link via twitter or sth like that would work best.

Is there any way to check if the picture I'd like to upload isn't uploaded already? (except manual searching by tags of course)

if you upload a pic that's exactly like one already uploaded, the booru stops the upload, but most duplicates are different in resolution, so those won't be discovered

Usually when I synchronize online albums with my HDD collections, I use duplicate-removal software like VisiPics or AntiDuplNET. I download a bunch of thumbnails from the online album and then compare this set with a set that I have on my disc, removing found duplicates from the disc (obviously you should do that on a copy if you don't want to lose your own pictures), then uploading what's left to the online storage.

You can also use those programs to see if there are duplicates already in the online album, by running the check on the thumbnail collection. Sadly you'll still have to find those images manually on the booru. Unless you'll find a way to add stuff like IQDB image search or Google reverse search to this site.

So I have removed around 450 duplicates using the aforementioned method. Now this booru must be more or less dupe-free, having only the best quality images out of every duplicate group. I have solved the problem of having to search for found duplicates manually on the booru by using the javascript+flash database solution I made myself, which finds thumbnail's location on the booru based on the image hash in it's name http://puu.sh/c8lDz/3b8c72244e.jpg

Also, now that I'm an admin, let's hope this place will be less dead, your contribution is valuable. I'm going to make this site become THE definitive source of seiyuu photos, I've always wanted this to happen.

Looks like using the parent/child posts causes the child ones to not appear in search results at all, so they're only available from the parent post. It's a pity, because it would be useful to have drawn images of seiyuu based on their photo to be child posts to that photo (like with http://koe.booru.org/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=752)

Looks like there's a problem, when you delete an image and then try to upload it again it won't let you saying it already exists even though it does not. So, try not to do that.

Forgot to mention it before, but I have manually looked through the entire imagebase, fixing tags and removing low quality pics and duplicates, putting solo tags where they're needed are removing tagme. Now everything is correct.
