Tagging Guidelines
What I'll post here ain't really rules. It's more like how I'd tag pictures.

For example I'd like to avoid a danbooru-esque tag-diarrhea with stuff like "yellow_flower", "flower_in_a_vase", "green_vase" and "vase_on_a_table". I try to keep it simple.
- Names of Persons visible
- Name of the Unit if one's on the picture
- If it's part of a series (like love megane) it's title
- If it's promoting an anime the title of that anime
- 'special' clothing / themes like kimono, dresses, suits, different uniforms, etc.

I personally think, general tags are sufficient, so very specific tags aren't really required.

Also, I'd like to know how you think we should handle Names that have multiple ways of writing them.
For example some people write "Satou", others write "Sato" and yet others write "Satoh". There is an alias-function available, but since I don't really trust that thing to show all 3 writings when searching for one of them, maybe we should agree on some ways of writing certain names.
Edit: Okay, the alias thing is working quite well, so, uh... send some alias-requests, I guess...

(also, I'd be surprised if someone ever visits this Forum... ^^; )

I visited the forum yay (but only cos you mentioned it on the chat...).

Random: I put tags of the magazine the scans are from (VN = Voice Newtype) out of desperation but...I don't think most people would know unless they scanned they have a copy of the mag themselves so er. Yeah I should nuke those tags.

As for the names thing, I would subscribe to modified Hepburn (minus macrons) romanization with plain 'ol Ito & Soichiro instead of Itō/Itou/Itoh or Sōichirō/Souichirou etc. That's just my preference though. But if the alias thing works then all is well.

Hmm, the alias system mentioned here could explain the weirdness with the itou_shizuka tag (check recent comments). Perhaps its first malfunction? :P

Yeah, probably something got messed up with the alias system and the capitalization of the Ito_Shizuka tag (compared to ito_shizuka).

Made test upload and i have no idea how the "tagme" tag got created with it o.O
Anybody knows how that happened and can somebody delete it was not my intention to create it.

the 'tagme' thing is an awesome bug that happens if you input <5 tags and AFAIK all you can do is manually remove it.

"It's not a bug, it's a feature"
Can't to anything about it, sorry. Also if you aren't sure about the persons on a picture / don't recognize everybody, just keep the tagme tag, so others can easily find pictures with untagged persons on it.
(then again, can't force you to do that, but it really would make that job easier)

about the shizuka-thing. I have NO idea what went wrong, maybe the capital letters were the cause, as pure said. (gelbooru only uses lower case letters, but the alias hat some upper case letters). Also already had a malfunction before that with kobayashi yuu... had to bother the hoster of the site with it and he told me to be more carefull... thus I don't exactly want to bother him again with an alias ^^;
I just went ahead and retagged all the itou_shizuka pics with ito_shizuka. would be nice if we'd just stick to the ito. But checking for itou_shizuka pics by searching for "itou_*" every now and then when there's a heap of new pics would be nice of you :o

I think solo tag would be useful. I mean, if you'd want to easily find only solo seiyuu photos, excluding all the group photos...?

Is there a way to make rating:safe to be default for any upload? Would save one click for the uploaders, since really, nobody would be uploading unsafe pics here, I hope.

I also introduced "drawing" tag for http://koe.booru.org/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=4230 stuff like this, I really like anime-like seiyuu depictions.

Should we have separate tags to kimono and yukata (and possible other kinds of traditional wear) or it'll only cause unneeded complexity and it would be better to sweep everything under kimono or traditional_clothes tag?

People should use this booru more, just saying. We need ways to spread this website.

Either I got bored first, or theres will still be pictures requiring tagme tag.. but I started to manually removed the tagme. 1 picture at a time.

1000 more to go (._.)

kinasuki, thanks, although it's probably not critical to have that done. Every time I do batch upload there will be another hundreds of tagme pics so maybe it's better to ignore it and use "tag_me" instead.
Do as you see fit though. You can use my userscript forum #5 that makes tag editing much easier.

UPDATE:
I have removed all the unnecessary tagme entries, so users are welcome to access the remaining true tagmes (http://koe.booru.org/index.php?page=post&s=list&tags=tagme) and tag people there.

It might be nice to start something with the name and issue of the magazine that the scan originates from? Maybe as a tag or just in the source field? I know it's already a lot of work with the tag backlog, but just voicing my thoughts for something that can be done with new uploads which doesn't require too much effort (I think).

slsb, there's not much point in doing something only for new uploads and leaving 5k images behind untagged.

More importantly, I have a feeling that doing so might attract unwanted attention from the copyright holders, like it happened on tumblr. People there put magazine names in their posts and then got images removed and accounts banned.

We need to stay under the radar.
